The Ministry of Environment & Climate Affairs has established a dedicated team (Open Data Committee Group) for producing and maintaining the Government Open Data for the public use under the Government Open Data License. The Team is chaired by H.E. The Minister and H.E. The Under Secretary. The Open Data committee is sub divided into two groups –
1. Open Data Collection & Quality Assurance – This group deals with extracting data from the MECA business departments.
2. External Parties – This group is a list of key priority stakeholders which are mainly government or semi government bodies with whom MECA is actively engaged in doing research and business operations.
Open Data Collection Mechanism -
The Business Directorates –
Directorate General of Environmental Affairs, Directorate General of Nature Conservation and Directorate General of Climate Affairs provide data to the key focal points under the Data Input Stage.
Several key Data Experts and Department Directors will then audit the data collected and process it into a form available for public usage. This data is moved to the next stage of approvals before publishing. The Department of Planning and Studies, Statistic Section will later publish the data after internal approvals.
